When the world gets a little too much and a little too loud 🥹…my safe space is metres under the ocean 🧜‍♀️💙 there is an eerie peace and serenity that comes with staring into the blue abyss and hearing only your heart beat. Even if only for a few minutes or seconds, the peace that you gain underwater stays with you on the surface 🌞

The only place where I’ve felt true stillness in mind, body and spirit 🙏 When I started freediving at 32, I wouldn’t have believed it if you’d told me I would find peace 20+ metres beneath the deep blue 🌊 and that this random sport would foster deeper connection to myself, the ocean, and other special humans 💙 So, if you’re thinking about stepping outside your comfort zone, this is a gentle reminder: it’s never ever too late to start ✨

Exploring the remote corners of Raja Ampat - South Gam Island. House reef at @yenanasparadise brought resident Black Tip reef sharks at almost every arvo snorkel.

While I’ve tasted the spectrum of comfort and luxury this trip, I’ve come to realise that my soul feels most recharged by connection to locals and homestay life. Who knew the simplicity of playing with marbles, bucket showers and sleeping in hammocks could be so perfect.
